• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

...this. I couldn't pin down just who he reminded me of, but yes, it's Leeron. Which is going to make it all the more amusing to play the game while actually understanding the dialogue.

No, it's the ROM. You'll have to look around for a patch called "pokefix" and follow the instructions there to the letter while making sure you're using No$GBA 2.6a. And if you get a "cannot load file" or something like that when running the encrypter, look for an already-encrypted version of...

It puzzles me why people would complain about the Gym leaders having the same Pokémon. It's a frigging REMAKE. Of course they're going to have the same Pokémon! Why in the world would you ever have expected them not to? o_O I do see where they're coming from on Lance's final Dragonite still...

No. Sinnoh's Japanese name is Shinou.

I actually really like Soul's overworld. I'm kind of considering playing as her now. ...also, do we actually know how slow or not slow the battles are? We have one video showing, what, one move being used?

My team will probably end up as something like... Typhlosion Red Gyarados Raikou Skarmory Weavile Butterfree I have taken to designing my teams in such a way that I'll fit all the HMs onto the actual team instead of having random HM slaves I need to take out whenever I need to use Whirlpool or...

...um, it's not as if Contests were ever the only thing you got ribbons for? Colosseum and XD give a ribbon to Pokémon when they're purified. All the post-Advance games give a ribbon for beating the Elite Four. All the post-Advance games have an Effort Ribbon. You get ribbons for certain winning...

They're for the DS. Also, the names of the Pokémon games are not created to match the Pokémon that will be on the covers! Does Ho-oh look remotely golden to you? Lugia silver? "Heart" and "Soul" are there to strengthen the color (or rather, metal) names, not to represent Ho-oh and Lugia.

...it isn't like that's something intrinsic about the Safari Zone, you know. o_O It was a bug caused by very special circumstances specifically in Red and Blue. For one thing, they'd already fixed it by Yellow; for another, it's not as if either set of remakes uses the original game as a base...

Guys, you do realize that the starter following you is probably a temporary thing, right? It's likely just used for when you're traveling to Mr. Pokémon's house for Professor Elm; at that time you're only borrowing the Pokémon, and it makes sense Elm wouldn't just send you off with the Pokéball...

...is that even a lab? It really looks like a home. Did they move Elm's lab elsewhere and make New Bark Town merely his home?

Mmm, that's really mostly a matter of the change in his art style and the fact our perceptions of him have been colored by Ash in the anime. The prominently spiky hair, for instance, was never present in the actual character art or sprites of Red. It did look black, but the Sugimori art had...

I always hated the "Dusk" and "Dawn" names. I realize the connection with Ho-oh and Lugia, but they should connect with the colors, not with the Pokémon on the covers. :/ The name of the game should make some internal sense. Besides, the names people were talking about were "DuskGold" and...
